July 1, 2010 8:00PM - 2010-2011 NBOME Bulletin of Information Released
PHILADELPHIA, PA (July 1, 2010) - The NBOME today released its updated Bulletin of Information (BOI) for 2010-2011. It is available online at: http://www.nbome.org/docs/comlexBOI.pdf. The BOI effectively serves as a candidate's "how to" guide for the COMLEX-USA series of examinations, covering information on eligibility, fees, exam descriptions, scheduling, transcripts and much more. It also constitutes a legal contract and outlines a candidate's obligations with respect to confidentiality, professional behavior and irregular conduct.
Key updates to the BOI for 2010-2011 include:
• Candidates may now take a COMLEX-USA computer-delivered examination up to four times in a 12-month period. The previous maximum was three times. (The number of times a candidate may take the COMLEX Level 2-Performance evaluation in a 12-month period remains unchanged at three.)
• A description of what a passing score means for each COMLEX-USA Level was added.
• There is no fee for candidates rescheduling the COMLEX Level 2-Performance Evaluation more than 90 days prior to the date of the scheduled examination. Previously there was a fee of $50 for rescheduling more than 30 days prior to the scheduled examination.
• The terms and conditions were updated to reflect a stronger emphasis on the candidates' contractual obligation to preserve the confidentiality of the material contained in the COMLEX-USA series of examinations.
• Information about the composition of the standardized patient mix for the COMLEX Level 2-Performance Evaluation was added.
• Information about the standard setting process was added.
In addition, the content of the BOI was reorganized to improve the flow and readability of the information.
