New Website FAQ
How do I log in to schedule an exam, purchase transcripts, etc.?
You used to have to go through three or so 'clicks' to access your account, but now you can easily log in through the bar that is visible at the top of every page. If you are a returning Candidate, Dean, or other individual with account access, simply input your username and password in the two boxes provided and click the 'LOGIN' button and you will be taken to the familiar account access pages you have seen before.
I just received an email with my secure code. What now?
Similar to the login process, you just need to look to the top of the page for a button titled 'Account Setup.' Clicking this will take you to a page where you can enter your secure code and begin the process of accessing your NBOME account information.
After I log in, it looks like the old website is back.
Currently, we have re-engineered only the front-end of the website. Our backend is built around various databases and custom programming that is in the process of being updated, but will take longer to attend to. In the meantime, once you have logged in you will continue to see the current iteration of our website and access.
In the coming months, we look forward to updating not only the look and feel of the NBOME account areas, but also add a great deal of functionality and reliability. Stay tuned - and sign up for our RSS feed to be alerted as soon as the change occurs!
What does "RSS" mean, and how can I use it?
RSS, or "Really Simple Syndication" is a way that you can get updates on score releases, updates to programs, and other interesting goings-on at the NBOME.
If you subscribe to the NBOME RSS News feed with an aggregator you can be notified of these announcements without having to go to the NBOME main page and refreshing over and over again. There are many aggregators available, both software and web-based, like Google Reader, Yahoo! or Netvibes. For a more comprehensive listing look at this Wikipedia list. Depending on the aggregator/reader you use, you can even choose to be alerted via email or text message when an important announcement comes out.
For more general information on RSS, check out this Wikipedia article.
Please note that the NBOME is not responsible for data and transmission charges that may be incurred with receiving RSS feeds. As always, check with your cellular provider for cost information before enabling any automated text service.
I can't find what I need anymore.
Although we invested a lot of time into organizing the new website to be as easy to navigate as possible, we understand that not finding the information you need is something that is bound to happen sometime.
We have provided several ways that you can find the information you need. On the main page, you will see a search bar on the left side. Enter a simple keyword or phrase, and there is a good chance the page you are looking for will come up here.
You can also look to the bottom of any page and find a link for our sitemap. This has direct links to all the pages on the site and can even be printed for easy navigation.
Finally, if you still cannot find what you are looking for, feel free to contact us with any questions you may still have.
